OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma City firefighters say a man and woman have died after they were pulled from a smoldering fire inside a home on the city's southeast side.

Battalion Chief Benny Fulkerson says the two died at a hospital where they were taken after being removed from the home Tuesday night.

Their names have not been released.

Fulkerson says firefighters were called to the home shortly before 11 p.m. and found smoke coming from the house.

Fulkerson says firefighters found a smoldering fire in a converted garage bedroom and the two victims were found in other rooms that were damaged by smoke and heat.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
