TULSA — A victim had minor injuries after he was shot Friday morning at Johnson Park on Riverside in south Tulsa.

The victim, a 48-year-old man, said he was at a picnic table at the park at about 5 a.m. when a person who had followed him into the area asked for money. The victim said he didn't have any money, and was then shot once in the leg.

The shooter, described as being between 18 and 21 years old, fled on foot towards the St. Thomas Square apartments, officials said.

The victim, who police say appears to be in good condition, could not walk after he was shot and was at the park for an hour or more before a Good Samaritan assisted him, police said.

Police said there was a blood stain on a cement pad near a table.

A hospital nurse said the victim was shot in the area of his left knee.
