Man taken into custody after reportedly leading Montgomery County authorities on vehicle chase

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Okla. – The man responsible for leading deputies on a vehicle chase that ended with the truck involved being submerged in a pond is now in custody.

David Dodson, 36, is now behind bars after leading Montgomery County authorities on a chase that started around 7 a.m. on Sept. 7.

Dodson reportedly stopped at location and asked a citizen for gas, claiming he was running from police. The citizen then called the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and described the vehicle Dodson eventually drove off in as a 90s silver Dodge truck.

Deputies were able to locate Dodson and the silver Dodge in Independence. They also discovered that the truck was reported stolen out of Chautauqua County, reports Montgomery Co. authorities. When they attempted to pull over the person driving the truck, Dodson, he led them on a vehicle chase.

Eventually they were able to stop Dodson after he drove the truck into a pond.

Currently, Dodson is facing charges of possession of stolen property, attempt to flee and elude law enforcement, criminal damage to property as well as driving without a license, reports Montgomery Co. deputies.
