TULSA – As the weather started to warm up Friday, so did the chance of wild fires spreading across Green Country.

Not long before noon the National Weather Service issued a Red Flag warning for most of Green Country that was scheduled to last until 6 p.m.

As the temperatures started to rise, so did the rate of wind, making the threat of flames more significant.

Both westbound lanes of the Bailey Turnpike at mile marker 98.5 were shut down due to large grass fire around 3:30 p.m.

Close to 2 p.m. a mobile home fire was located in Prattville in Sand Springs. No injuries were reported and no one was home during the fire.

Around 1 p.m. a grass fire was reported in Sapulpa near S. 129th W. Avenue. The fire is close to homes in the area. Residents are working to keep horses and other animals calm.
