Oklahoma attorney general says new compacts are illegal

Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter says Governor Kevin Stitt's new gaming compacts are illegal.

In his official opinion, Hunter says the governor cannot enter into the new compacts with the Comanche Nation and the Otoe-Missouria Tribe, because they allow sports betting which is illegal in Oklahoma.

Hunter says the U.S. Department of Interior has to approve compacts like these before they go into effect.

He is asking the secretary of the interior to reject the gaming agreements.
