OU Medicine announced a new clinical trial Thursday that will use plasma to treat COVID-19 patients.

It's partnering with the Mayo Clinic to test a new trial therapy for COVID-19 patients, according to a statement released by OU Medicine.

The trial is being led by the Mayo Clinic and has already been approved by the FDA.

The idea is to take plasma from people who have recovered from COVID-19 and give it to people who are really sick with the virus.

Researchers say patients that recovered have antibodies in their blood that can fight the virus.
