Woman shot in the leg through bedroom wall in south Tulsa was an accident, police say

TULSA — UPDATE: Police say the shooting that took place in south Tulsa on Thursday night was an accident.

Around 11 p.m., police responded to the Riverparks Apartments where a woman had been shot in the leg.

Police say the woman said the shot had come through the wall in her bedroom.

Police learned the neighbor was cleaning and unloading his handgun when he accidentally triggered the gun.

The woman was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say at this time there are no charges being filed against the neighbor.

This happened at the Riverparks Apartments near 81st Street and Riverside just before 11 p.m.
