TULSA — Officials with TPG Investments, LLC, announced today they sold the Remington Tower to TAG Multifamily, LLC based out of Colorado, to become "high end luxury apartments'.
The iconic Remington Tower, built in 1983, is a 19-story high rise building that sits off East Skelly Drive and I-44 in Tulsa.
TPG Investments and its owners Mark Roberts, Mark Helmer and John Rupe Jr., purchased and remodeled the building in July 2013.
After the remodel, the occupancy at Remington Tower went from 49% to 92%, officials say.
Then in August 2017, Remington Tower was hit by at EF-2 tornado, officials say.
Since then TPG Investments and its owners have "been working hard to find the best and highest use for the building."
"The new luxury apartments will be for lease only. We are working on renderings for public view and should have a website up soon to provide more information. We're excited to bring this new concept to Tulsa and breathe life back into this beautiful building," says Travis Reese a representative of TAG Multifamily, LLC.
Officials say TAG has plans to begin the project "within the next 30-days," with the first apartments opening within 12 months.
