RIPLEY, Okla. — The Ripley School District teachers are in shock.

Lisa Pitts, Ripley School District Elementary Principal says, “It’s very surprising, we're heart broken.”

The Ripley School District Superintendent Kenneth Beams and the district’s Middle School Math Teaching Assistant Kacey Williamson were arrested last week in connection to an illicit sex business investigation law enforcement are calling, “Operation Velvet Fury.”

“No one wants to have a conversation like this, um, it’s been difficult because he is our leader,” says Pitts.

Kacey Williamson had just started at the middle school for the 2019-2020 school year.

Pitts says, “I did not really know her background, she’s very new to our district.”

Superintendent Beams has held his position with the district for 19 years.

“Great guy, worked hard for the district and did great things with kids statewide,” said Pitts.

District teachers say they still stand behind Beams.

“Still love him, still support him,” said Pitts. “He is a fantastic person, we support him 100%.”
