River West Festival Park reopens with new look

Posted

TULSA – A popular park in Tulsa is set to reopen after undergoing a major facelift.

River West Festival Park will be ready in time for this year’s Scotfest. The park at Jackson and 21st St. was upgraded thanks to a $5.5 million renovation.

New parking, lighting and a performance stage highlight an area that will be used mostly for festivals.

But, there is a glaring reminder of the past still floating in the river: A stage that River Parks can't seem to get rid of.
“We don't know what the future of that is, but it's still available, it's there and if we can put it to good use we certainly will.”

The city sold the stage last year for just $550. But the sale fell through when the buyers didn't want to pay to move it.

Now the city says they are still looking for a buyer.

There will be an official reopening ceremony for River West Festival Park on Friday. That same day, Scotfest will kick off their festivities.
