Deputy-involved crash during police pursuit

Posted

CLAREMORE, Okla. - Police say employees at a Long John Silvers restaurant were about to make a bank run when they noticed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot.

Police ran tags on the vehicle and discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen.

Police say the suspect drove off, leading police on a chase from Claremore to Catoosa before running out of gas.

During the pursuit, a Rogers County deputy was involved in a crash just south of the entrance to the Port of Catoosa.

The suspect was taken into custody. Police say they do not believe the deputy was injured during the crash.
