Rogers County deputies have arrested a woman who is expected to face child neglect charges in Kansas.

After a dual investigation with the Greenwood (Kan.) County Sheriff’s Office, Janie L. Gill, 69, was taken into custody, authorities say.

According to Greenwood County, Gill's grandson, who has special needs, was left unattended at a rest stop on 400 Highway on Nov. 29. He had no identification and was unable to speak, authorities say. Officers worked for a full day to identify the boy, posting his photo on social media to gain tips.

He has remained in protective custody during the ensuing investigation.

Greenwood County says it placed a hold on Gill with Rogers County, pending the service of an arrest warrant for aggravated endangering of a child and interference with a law enforcement officer, the agency says.
