Investigators said the children's' grandmother went to the Sand Springs home Saturday afternoon after several calls to reach the couple. She was supposed to babysit the girls so that the couple could celebrate Smith's birthday on Jan. 22.
According to Captain Todd Enzbrenner, several weapons used in the crime were found inside the residence.
“We did find knives in the house with blood on them," Enzbrenner said.
Enzbrenner said the murders and suicide may have happened the night before the bodies were found.
“Last contact was around 7 p.m. on Friday," Enzbrenner said. "We have some witness testimony that it may have happened around 10:30, 11:00 o’clock at night.”
Sand Springs are still waiting more information from the medical examiner. However, they said they believe Ross killed his family, before taking his own life.
