TULSA -- Oral Roberts University announced Monday that the school has released men's basketball coach Scott Sutton.
Assistant coach Rodney Perry was announced as the school's interim coach, while the school searches for a long-term replacement.
The school released the following statement about Sutton:
“We appreciate Scott’s outstanding record, his loyalty and his long term service to the University,” said ORU Athletic Director Mike Carter. “He will forever be a part of our great history. We love Scott and his family and wish him the very best.”
Sutton had been the coach at ORU since 1999. The Golden Eagles went 8-22 during the 2016-17 season.
