Strong tornado hammers Green Country

A devastating tornado ripped through parts of Oklahoma which left behind plenty of destruction and barely any buildings left standing.

At Snake Creek Marina in Cherokee County, there is a sea of boats upside down, on their sides, and completely torn apart.

Many residents and boat owners were in disbelief as they walked along the shore for the first time - looking at all of the damage.

Many tried to locate their boats in the tangled mess, but few have been successful.

Nancy Delpha and her husband have docked at the marina for years and say the area is now unrecognizable.

"Well this was a walkway that went all the way out into the marina," Nancy said. "There was a store, restaurant, and place for the boats to get gas. Then several docks with boat slips and lots of boats."

Residents said isn't the first time storms have whipped through the marina - but the first time it's ever done this amount of damage.

Many are asking the question - if the marina will be rebuilt but for right now, they're just trying to figure out where to begin.

Residents said they're just thankful everyone made it out alive.
