Oklahoma has the highest incarceration rate in the world, according to a new study by the Prison Policy Initiative.
The study says Oklahoma recently unseated Louisiana as the "the world's prison capital."
The study looked into incarceration rates per capita in the United States and other countries in the world.
Oklahoma had an incarceration rate of 1,079 people per 100,000 people in the state. Oklahoma was followed by Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia and Alabama.
