BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – What started as a domestic disturbance call left one man dead and a Bartlesville officer injured as well.
Bartlesville police said they were called to a reported domestic disturbance and when they arrived a woman ran out of the home with a man following her. The man, William Cole, allegedly was assaulting the woman, said police, and officers jumped in to stop the attack.
After attempting to stop the man with a Taser, the man allegedly started assaulting one of the officers.
That officer fired his weapon and the man was struck. Both the man and the woman were transported to a nearby hospital, along with the officer that was assaulted.
The man was later pronounced dead.
The officer is currently being treated for facial wounds he received when he was attacked.
