Teen killed in east Tulsa shooting identified

TULSA -- Tulsa police have identified a 15-year-old girl who was killed in a shooting in east Tulsa early Sunday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the Belmont apartments at 11300 East 23rd Street just after 2 a.m. Sunday in reference to a reported self-inflicted shooting.

Upon arrival, a girl was found with a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. 

Some witnesses remained at the apartment while others left the scene. The evidence indicated that the shooting was not self-inflicted, police said.

Numerous people were inside the apartment when the shooting happened.

The girl who died was identified as Brittany Urena, 15.

Investigators are conducting interviews in connection with the incident.
