TFD: House fire leads to man's arrest after attempting to steal fire truck

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Fire Department is investigating after an early morning house fire lead to the arrest of a man after they said he attempted to steal a fire truck.

TFD officials said the fire happened near North Lewis and North Utica.

Tulsa Fire Department officials said a house fire started in the garage of one home and spread to the neighboring house. It is unknown what started the fire.

TFD officials said the first home experienced heavy damage, while the second home only had exterior damage. A person from the second home was burned but it is not life-threatening, officials said.

While the Tulsa Fire Department was at the scene of the fire, they said a person attempted to steal a fire truck. TFD ran the person off and Tulsa police were able to arrest him.

At this time, Tulsa police have not released the identity of the person.
