The New Normal: What one local school district is doing to mitigate spread of COVID-19

TULSA, Okla. — Some Green Country public schools kicked off their first day of school Monday. Owasso and Union school districts had their first day of classes for both in-person and online students.

Some 30% of students are learning from home while others are in the classroom. While some parents are glad to have their children back in school, others aren’t taking the risk.

Union Public School district said they follow strict in-person guidelines to limit social distancing and prevent further spread of COVID-19. Additionally, the district said its monitoring the regional spread of the disease closely and it has the ability to go fully online if needed.
