TULSA — According to Tulsa Police Department, police will be focusing on red and yellow light violations in Tulsa during the month of November.

Police say both TPD traffic officers and motorcycle officers will be randomly monitoring all major intersections.

Police say these violations are the "leading cause of severe and fatal collisions."

Police say a red light violation citation will have a fine of $250 and a yellow light violation citation will have a fine of $200. Police say no warnings will be issued.

Tulsa police remind drivers to buckle seatbelts, refrain from using all electronic communication devices, pay special attention to all traffic signals, secure children in a properly installed child restraint system and remain alert.

Police say that violation of a red light traffic signal is a leading cause of injury collisions in intersections.
