TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa CARES, the largest and most comprehensive provider of wraparound care serving low income individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Oklahoma, will honor World AIDS Day with a community walk.

World AIDS Day is observed annually on Dec. 1 and serves as an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV, speak out against HIV stigma, and remember those who have passed.

To recognize the essential role that the Tulsa community has played in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, Tulsa CARES along with the Evergreen Health Coalition will host a special gathering and brief walk to honor the day, raise awareness, and stand together as a community, organizers said.

The event will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1 at Centennial Park from 2 – 3:30 p.m.

It's free and open to the public. Families and dogs are welcome.
