A major development arises in the sexual assault investigation involving Bixby High School football players.
The Tulsa County District Attorney has recused his office from the case. It will now be handled by the Rogers County District Attorney.
This announcement could signal that charges are closed to being filed. Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation took over the case just days ago from Bixby police.
The investigation stems from an incident during the regular football season in which a member of the football team says he was sexually assaulted by an object.
The team addressed a "no bullying policy" three weeks ago, but did not address this specific incident.
Two of the players were apparently benched after that address, but no charges were filed.
The victim of the assault is said to have ties to the District Attorney's office.
