TULSA -- The Tulsa County District Attorney's Office released a statement Tuesday in connection with a sexual assault investigation at Bixby Public Schools.

The alleged rape happened at a Bixby High School football event.

Read the statement below:

"The Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office does not get involved unless a law enforcement report is delivered to our office for review.  Our Office would necessarily recuse itself from review of any investigation if it is determined that a victim is connected to a member of our staff.

Child abuse investigations are particularly sensitive cases for victims, and confidentiality should be protected in every instance."

According to a police report, four teenagers are accused of rape by instrumentation. The report said everyone involved in the incident is either 16- or 17-years-old.

The district said it is cooperating with investigators but would not comment any further.
