TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Crimestoppers is encouraging neighborhoods to sign up for the upcoming Tulsa Night Out on September 18.

You can participate in this city-wide effort between law enforcement in the community in order to make neighborhoods safer and deter crime.

The executive director of Tulsa Crimestoppers, Karen Gilbert, encourages neighbors to turn their porch lights on Tulsa Night Out and hold a block party or community event in your neighborhood.

Other activity ideas include cookouts, picnics and scavenger hunts. Once you register your neighborhood, they will send an officer from the Tulsa Fire Department, a Tulsa firefighter or even Mayor GT Bynum to stop by.
