Tulsa family dances to millions of social media views

Emmanuel Hurd and his children have danced to 5.3 million views on Facebook as the world has become enamored with their fun video.

Practically overnight, they have become a social media sensation.

Emmanuel says he got the idea as a tribute to his wife, Shazia, who is from Pakistan and loves hip-hop dancing.

So Emmanuel and the kids combined her favorite dance style with music from her homeland, and now 5.3 million people – and counting – have watched it on Facebook.

Millions more have watched on Twitter.

The family stopped by the KJRH studios on Wednesday night to talk about their social media smash and to dance, too!

“One of the touching things is a lot of women have reached out to me about interracial marriage and how they've been touched by our family,’ Shazia said.

The couple met in kind of a classic Tulsa way – as teenagers, they spotted each other cruising on Memorial Drive.

Emmanuel gives dance lessons in Tulsa. .

He and his oldest son, Manny, hope to try out for NBC’s World of Dance sometime soon.
