Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police warns of crowdfunding scams

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police is warning the public about crowdfunding scams claiming to help a fallen police sergeant's family.

Tulsa Police Sgt. Craig Johnson died after being shot during a traffic stop around 3:30 a.m. on Monday.

The second officer injured in the shooting, Officer Aurash Zarkeshan, is recovering in the hospital.

The police union said they’ve seen several online fundraising sites pop up in the wake of the tragedy.

They want to remind everyone that’s wishing to support our officers the official donation site is located through the Tulsa Community Foundation.

All you have to do is click donate and choose the Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police Benevolent Fund.

”We’re still calling for prayers for our other wounded officer that’s still in critical condition and fighting for his life—he was also shot multiple times, including a head wound—he’s not out of the woods yet and please pray for him and his family,” said Jerad Lindsey, Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police.
