Tulsa high school principal abruptly resigns

A Tulsa High School principal resigned abruptly right before school starts, but there could be more to his departure.

Sources in the district say the 12 year Tulsa Public Schools educator was suspended last week, pending investigation.

When classes start in about three weeks, Hale High School will have a new leader after former principal Caleb Starr resigned.

Multiple sources say Starr may have had an inappropriate relationship with another school employee. Rumors about the relationship were rampant, even among students who talked about the accusations Tuesday night.

2 Works for You called Starr and even stopped by his house. Then, our investigators received a letter of his resignation from the district. Just two lines after a dozen years with the district, Starr says he's never coming back.

A copy of a memo sent to Hale employees was also obtained by 2 Works for You. They're meeting Wednesday afternoon with Superintendent Deborah Gist to discuss changes in the upcoming school year. The district would not comment on a personnel issue.
