Tulsa police officers involved in QuikTrip shooting identified

TULSA -- The Tulsa Police Department has identified two officers involved in an officer-involved shooting on July 3.

The shooting happened at a midtown Tulsa QuikTrip on July 3. Police said a suspect, John Chatman, fired at an officer, before officers opened fire on him.

The officer who shot Chatman was identified as Officer Michael Caweizell. Caweizell has been with the department since 2013, and has no reportable complaint history, police said. 

The officer who was shot was identified as Sergeant Michael Parsons. Parsons has been with the department since 1993, and has no reportable complaint history, police said. 

Parsons was taken to the hospital and released, and Chatman was also taken to an area hospital.
