TULSA, Okla. — UPDATE: As of 9:45 p.m. OHP confirms Highway 75 northbound from I-244, Highway 75 northbound from I-244 westbound, and Highway 75 northbound from I-244 eastbound are all back open.

Tulsa homicide detectives say a woman is dead after being shot along U.S. Highway 75 just north of downtown on Wednesday night.

Investigators are processing the scene near the Peoria Ave. exit.

Police say the woman and a man pulled over on the shoulder to burglarize a disabled vehicle when the owner of the broken-down vehicle returned to catch them in the act.

The suspected burglar was armed, police say, and he and the car's owner began to struggle over the gun when the woman was shot and killed.

The man suspected in the burglary took off on foot and officers are looking for him.

The identity of the woman has not been released.
