TULSA, Okla. — A man drowned after escaping Tulsa police custody on Thursday.

The Tulsa Police Department posted an update to its Facebook page a few hours after they were called out about an alarm at the Shoreline Apartments clubhouse near 21st Street and Mingo around 4:30 a.m.

Tulsa police say they showed up and found a shattered front door and a naked man inside the clubhouse. Officers took him into custody and said he was cooperative until he made a break for it with his hands cuffed behind his back, kicked open the back door of the clubhouse and jumped over the patio railing into the pond.
