Tulsa's one hundred acre park turns one today.
In just one year the United States awarded it "Best New Attraction".
One year ago today the George Kaiser Family Foundation opened up the Gathering Place.
People from all over come to see a park that's one of a kind.
This weekend several events surrounding the parks birthday have taken place, like a 3-on-3 basketball tournament.
Every month they host several different events and festivals for people to enjoy.
Aliyah, Alexia, Travman, Adreanna, April, love the quality time at The Gathering Place, and tell us, “Have family time, yeah we wanna have family time and we about to get on the boat, yea we wanted to ride the boat and we just wanted to have fun with each other.”
The Gathering Place offers food, beverages, and ice cream in addition to boat rafting and more.
Next month they will be hosting The Tulsa Beer and Wine Festival on September 21st.
