TULSA – Officers brought a Union High School student into custody Monday after finding a weapon on campus.
According to Union Public School spokesperson Gretchen Haas-Bethell, a student informed a counselor that another student was in possession of a gun on campus around 2:30 p.m.
Haas-Bethell says the counselor then reported the issue to an assistant principal who removed the suspected student from class and turn them over to Tulsa police.
Tulsa Police Dept. Ofc. Leland Ashley said the 16-year-old suspected student was in possession of a "revolver," but did not specify the caliber of the handgun.
Ofc. Ashley then went on to say that the student was taken to the Juvenile Burear District Court.
Due to the age of the suspected student, their identity will not be released at this time.
