Sharon Daugherty is one of the founding pastors for Victory Christian Church. Photos surfaced of Daugherty in Washington, D.C. started showing up on social media in the days after the events.
Victory Christian Church released a statement:
“Sharon went to Washington D.C. on Monday to pray for our nation and it’s leaders. She was not involved in any way with the riot that happened near the capital. She was part of a time of prayer and worship that day near the Lincoln Memorial.
She did not go to represent Victory, but on her own accord.
We condemn the acts of violence and dishonor that occurred in Washington DC on Wednesday and pray for the families of those who lost loved ones. We pray for God’s grace and peace over our land as President elect Biden & Vice President Harris transition into leadership. And We will continue to pray for our leaders in the days ahead.”
