MOORE, Okla. — A Moore city councilman backtracked Wednesday after he sent out a statement on his Facebook page that the family-owned restaurant Wahlburgers was coming to the city, KOCO reports.
After councilman Mark Hamm posted on Facebook that the restaurant would be located on Southwest 19th Street in front of the Target, he later provided a correction.
Hamm said he received an email from Katie Piepora, Director of Communications for Wahlburgers, who said:
“At this time, as a corporate organization, we are unaware of any plans and do not currently have a franchise agreement signed with anyone in this market. While we are always looking for our next best location and love the people of Oklahoma, this is not in the works.”
