Ways 2 Help: Local Company Challenges Others to Give Back to Employees During COVID-19

A local family-owned pipeline equipment manufacturing company is challenging businesses to support essential workers during this global health crisis.

Pipeline Equipment, Inc., or PEI, has been in the Tulsa area for 25 years and is still operating to support the energy industry.

Founder and President Jack Lollis knows his employees are risking their health to come to work.

While Lollis has implemented new shifts and social distancing practices, he says he knows people are making sacrifices to provide essential work.

In an effort to say thank you to those employees and support other local businesses, Lollis is sending gift cards to all 140 employees.

"Some of them have been there 20 years, some 15 years. So, we do become family. So, we kind of all miss each other when we’re not there together. So, it’s just a small thing we thought we could do to help them out and help out another local business," Lollis said.

He says he's giving out gift cards to Roosevelt's, which has now turned into a local market.

He says he hopes businesses or individuals will do something to show appreciation for those working essential functions right now and consider helping a local business in the process.
