Homes damaged, seven injured after OK. tornadoes

TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- One person is in critical condition and several roads are closed after tornadoes swept through eastern Oklahoma Wednesday night.

Multiple tornado touchdowns occurred in the Tulsa, Oklahoma, area Wednesday night. The storm that swept across the area led to a tornado that touched down and lifted up numerous times.

Several structures and homes were damaged. Streets in the northern part of Tulsa are closed due to damage caused by the storm.

The City of Tulsa said in a statement that several roads were closed and police and fire crews were canvassing the city. The Streets and Water Departments are assisting with road barricades and debris removal.

Emergency Medical Services Authority, an ambulance service provider, tweeted Wednesday night that weather-related calls resulted in seven patients transported. It says most calls were for serious injuries. There was one critical patient.

Public Service Company of Oklahoma reported 5,654 customers without power following the storm.
