TULSA, Okla. — A beauty supply store is happy to be back open for curbside service after previously being closed because of COVID-19.
Mandy’s Beauty Supply, located at 7212 E 41st St, Tulsa, OK 74145, is working to get back on track financially after not knowing if they were considered essential business.
“We had a week in there where we were closed. So, that was a big downer," Mandy Woody, the store owner said.
While Woody and her team switched to focusing on shipping out call in orders, the city gave them the "okay" as an essential business.
"We were concerned when we were called but when we spoke to Tulsa police, they said the mayor said beauty stores were considered essential," Woody said.
When she reopened her store, Woody made adjustments to keep her employees and customers safe.
"Now we can only have six people in the store at a time because I usually have two-three workers, and I don’t want more than 10 people in the store at a time," Woody said.
Despite their set back, Woody says she determined to stay open and serve anyone who calls or stops by because what they help people with is more than hair.
“People tend to come in look and figure out what they want to do with their hair. A lot of times people don’t already have a goal," Woody said. "When we get to work with them and recommend the right products, they leave with a confidence to tackled their career and hold their head up."
Mandy’s Beauty Supply also offers personal shopping if you call ahead or pull up for curbside assistance. They are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
If you would like to ask about personal shopping or placing an order to be shipped, call 1- (539) 525-0833.
And while they work on their website, they’re showing products and answering questions on their Facebook page.
