PEGGS, Okla. — A woman believes the body found in Cherokee County is her brother.

Sheriff’s deputies say a body was found near Rocky Ford State Park near Peggs. They have not confirmed the identity, but Danielle Haddock says it’s her brother, Lucas Ashlock.

Haddock says her brother was last seen at a friend’s house near Rocky Ford when a fight broke out. She reported her brother missing last week.

Haddock said, “No one ever called me back. No one has still called me to this day. I don’t know if they did what they could. I don’t know if this could’ve been prevented.”

A search crew of family and friends went out Tuesday morning to look for Lucas. Haddock says around 11:30, she got a phone call saying a body was found.

She said, “It brings me some closure, but part of me just wishes somebody would’ve listened to my cries for help when I literally cried for help.”

She’s now hoping for answers to find out what happened to the man she spent her childhood with, adding, “He’s one of the most important people in my life, and I don’t know how I’ll get past this.”
