SHEBOYGAN -- A Sheboygan cat is homeward bound after a mysterious journey across the country. She somehow made it from her home in Sheboygan all the way to Naples, Florida.

Every day since Christmas Eve, Cheri Stocker has filled up this food bowl and left it outside of her back door hoping for her cat to return, never believing she could have made it more than a few blocks.

Cheri had almost given up hope of finding her cat Nadia. The kitty got out a back door on Christmas Eve and took off.

Cheri and her husband searched for weeks. When the bitter cold hit this winter, she started to fear the worst because Nadia had never been an outside cat.

"We had the below zero wind chills and that, we had resigned that she had frozen," Cheri says.

But Nadia was not dead. Cheri got a call she thought at first was a scam. The woman said she had found Nadia all the way in Naples, Florida.

"It's pretty amazing, pretty shocking how far she had come. I mean if she could tell us stories," says Michelle Richards who found Nadia.

Richards found Nadia in her backyard. With the help of the Humane Society and a microchip, they found Cheri.

Cheri believes her cat may have hitched a ride on a semi.

"There's a couple of businesses around here that she burrowed in and took a ride to Florida," says Cheri.

Nadia wasn't hurt, and now she's just waiting to go home. Cheri hopes to be reunited with Nadia on Thursday.
