Robin Williams had no alcohol or illegal drugs in his system when he committed suicide, officials said Friday.

The results of Williams' autopsy were released by the Marin County Sheriff's office after several delays. The cause of death was listed as "asphyxia due to hanging" and a "suicide."

Williams had previously battled depression, alcoholism and addiction. He died at 63 at his home in Tiburon, California, near San Francisco.
