Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte to make early debut this summer

Are you ready? The Pumpkin Spice Latte is making a comeback earlier than usual this year.

Starbucks announced via the Pumpkin Spice Latte Twitter account (@TheRealPSL) that the fan-favorite fall drink will be sliding across Starbucks counters to customers beginning August 25. This is a tad earlier than last year’s end-of-August release, and fans are ready.

Hold your horses, though: The drink doesn't officially launch nationwide until Sept. 2, but customers who participate in an online scavenger hunt connected with the Twitter handle @TheRealPSL will be able to buy the seasonal beverage beginning August 26, Starbucks spokeswoman Megan Adams told NBC News

Why the early release? Starbucks hasn’t announced an official reason, but shared on their website the “beloved PSL turns ten this year.”

In any case, social media fans of the cinnamon, nutmeg and clove-spiced creamy drink aren’t complaining- there have been over 29,000 tweets featuring the hashtag #pumpkinspice since August of 2012.
