BALTIMORE — A recent fire academy graduate in Maryland got the surprise of a lifetime from his new fire family.

Michael Faherty and his wife were adopting a new baby boy, but during what they thought would be their last inspection, his classmates had something else up their sleeve.

Anne Arundel County Fire Department’s 57th recruitment class lined up outside of Faherty's house and hand delivered the family their newest addition.

But that was not all.

“There is a little something in the back of the ambulance,” said one of the firefighters to Faherty.

The back of the ambulance was filled with diapers and baby supplies for the new family. With tears in their eyes and love in their hearts, the Fahertys were speechless, showing their family had grown by much more than just one baby.
