Less than 24 hours following an Iranian missile strike targeting two Iraqi military bases that house US troops, two rockets reportedly landed in the green zone of Baghdad late Wednesday, not far from the US Embassy, ABC News reported .

Sources told ABC News that there were no causalities involving Wednesday's incident in Baghdad.

The Baghdad green zone contains a number of embassies for western nations, including the United States. It is unknown what was the intended target of the rockets. It is also unknown where the rockets originated from.

The incident in Baghdad comes just hours after President Donald Trump said from Washington that Iran "appears to be standing down."

Iraq has become entangled in military action between Iran and the United States. Last week, the US launched an attack against Iranian General Qasem Soleimani who was in Iraq at the time of his death.
