Cherokee Co. deputy cleared in fatal shooting

Posted

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Okla. – After an OSBI investigation, it has been determined that the use of force in a deputy-involved shooting is justified.

In October Deputy Bryan Qualls shot and killed Daniel Nole on October 30. The OSBI investigation ensued and according to District Attorney Brian Keuster, criminal charges will not be filed against Qualls.

The investigation showed that Nole stabbed two people and set fire to some hay. Deputies fired when, they say, Nole charged towards them with a knife.

Nole was pronounced dead at the scene.
