TULSA - For the ninth time Tulsa American Airlines employees volunteered their time to make the holiday season special for the families of fallen soldiers.

Sunday morning the families had a Christmas party at their gate before getting on a plane to Dallas for a week-long vacation.

American Airlines pays for the flight, and plans the trip.

Garth Peterson lost his son Sergeant Anthony Delmar Peterson in 2011 in Afghanistan.

He brings his grandson every year so he has something to look forward to, and to bond with other families.

"We’re grateful... Just to put it in a sum of words, we’re grateful for the snowball express," he said.

The families return from their trip on Thursday.
