STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State University head basketball coach Mike Boynton surprised a walk-on player with a scholarship while he was at work over the weekend.
According to an OSU Facebook post, Boynton surprised Dee Mitchell, who joined the Cowboys basketball team on Jan. 17, 2019, with a scholarship.
Well-deserved and hard-earned opportunity for him.

Mitchell has been working at Walmart to help pay his way through school.
In the emotional video, Boynton surprised Mitchell at his job at a Walmart in Stillwater, Okla. with the news of a scholarship. Some of the Cowboy's basketball team joined in the surprise announcement on zoom.
