TULSA, Okla. — Late into the night, TU came back from yet another deficit to continue its 5-0 American Conference start. This time, it took three quarterbacks, and the latest moment of heroics from Zaven Collins.

Zach Smith exited with a torso injury. Backup Seth Boomer was carted off with a leg injury.

Enter Davis Brin.

In just over one quarter, Brin threw for 265 yards, two touchdowns, and a rushing touchdown.

Those scores included a fourth-and-15 strike to the back of the end zone and a 38-yard Hail Mary, hitting JC Santana over both defenders and teammates as time expired to tie the game and send it to overtime.

Both teams kicked a field goal in the first overtime period. In the second, TU elected to send its defense onto the field again. In a goal-to-go situation, Zaven Collins picked off a pass and ran it back 96 yards, giving TU another miraculous win and inciting a dog pile in the opposite end zone.

The Golden Hurricane won 30-24, improving to 5-1 (5-0 in-conference), and propelling themselves into first in the American.

Collins ended the night with 15 total tackles, 8 solo tackles, and the pick-six that will be remembered for years to come.
