TULSA — There is a slight risk of severe storms developing in the Tulsa area Friday afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will mainly affect northeast Oklahoma, and a few of the storms may become severe Friday afternoon into the overnight hours, the NWS states.
Large hail and damaging winds are the main threat. Locally heavy rainfall will also be possible, mainly northwest of Interstate 44.

The holiday weekend will be warm and muggy with highs in the middle 80s and low rain chances.
